Two people come out a building and into a story.

Two people come out a building and into a story, sound’s so romantic hey?!? Well, depends on how you interpret it surely.

What about...two people walk out a building everyday to and from work and at the end of everyday, they walk into their own love story and their live their life as a story.

Or...two people come out a building and into a story, literally, a real "news" story! Entering into a scene, far fetch it seems? But I'm sure it happens. Two people being involved in the story, one being the content, the other being the writer of this story. How hard must it be to write about the person next to you, the person you see everyday?

Two people come out a building and into a story could possibly mean nothing, nothing to anyone around them. They could be walking out of a building into their own stories, their own lives. Having absolutely nothing to do with each other, two different individuals, living their own lives, telling their own stories!

I am sure everyone wants to be the lead character in their own life stories, why would you possibly want to play a supporting role?

I heart Cape Town!

Cape Town, the Mother City! The city where the streets come alive...the lights inspire you!

The most beautiful women, crafted mountains, breathtaking beaches and wait for it...toothless car-guards.

Cape Town, the place where everyone comes for a holiday. When in December, places are packed with all types of tourists (okay not only in December, but you get my point). When you see the "Jozi crew" in their crocodile skin shoes and designer brands, "Durbanites" driving their dad's new BMW 3series, with the locals just enjoying the festive season (while the December bonus lasts). Oh, I almost forgot about "The Baai" (Port Elizabeth)...just looking lost! Side-tracking...PE is still one of my favourite places to visit in South Africa.

I love Cape Town for its colour, its diversity. Its filled with trend-setters, fashion and go-getters. Its filled with ambitious, ethusiastic individuals.

Cape Town though, compared to our other provinces is the mother of procrastination. We as Capetonians work, play and live at our pace, WE SLOW!

Living the dream or Working with the stars...you choose!

My first day back in 2007, I was walking towards the nets when I saw the legendary, Mr Herschelle Herman Gibbs. My body froze, thinking OMG! I pulled myself, towards myself and asked him for a photograph, he gladly came forward...and the rest my friends as they say is history!

Now in 2011, many people still ask me, "OMG how is it to work with them"? Them being the likes of Herschelle Gibbs, JP Duminy, Graeme Smith, Charl Langeveldt and many others. My response now, "Its normal, they normal", my response then (2007) "OMG its insane".

Working with both international and domestic cricketers is truly a dream come true. Its fun yet challenging but most of all, never a dull moment. Funny enough, these players have become my motivation, my inspiration to push further than what lies in front of you. To push the boundaries (no pun intended), and for that I am grateful!

The scariest part though (of which I keep on being reminded) and I quote The Devil Wears Prada, "Many girls would kill for your job", is that, this is true! To do what I do, you need to be strong, strong enough to own your territory but also to know that you are not irreplaceble! Being on guard, waiting to unleash your PHD (PULL-HER-DOWN) syndrome, is hard work LOL!

Designer PR

Designer PR...WTF?!?
I have two opinions on this...

OK, when you put this into academic perspective of CPUT, Designer PR would make sense in the fact of moving faculties to a new "dimension". Designers are known to be open, open to adventure, flexibility and crazy ideas!

In the same breath, Public Relations (practitioners) are or should be open to new ideas, flexibility, thinking out of the box and going over the top.

Designer PR could be working on big brands, luxury. Doing this "designer style"...OK, that's all I have on that!

Back to my first point, Public Relations in design is unique, unique in the sense that too many at first it doesn't make sense, until you see the bigger picture, you think outside your comfortable little box. Which is exactly what they want you to do.

Public Relations is open, open to so many matters in society and beyond. Not open enough though to make society realize and see that in Public Relations, "Money talks and bullshit walks"...

The Sports Industry...

Sport is dark...a dark force that climbs inside and eats you alive...Wow that was scary, I'd say!

The sports industry from the outside seems so pretty. All glittery and glamorous, what they dont tell you is that it’s just about 10% of your job. The fame, not fortune isn't going to take over your life just yet.

It’s about the passion, "your love for the game". It’s about you coming to work at 05h00 in the morning and then leaving at 01h00 the next morning. It’s about commitment, drive, ambition...to survive in sport you have to be DYNAMIC.

One thing about the sports industry is that nobody is irreplaceable. Someone could walk into your office today and do what you do, but they couldn’t do things the way you did it, arguably.

So many people strive to be in sport, but when they get here...its not what it seems!

I've been in this industry for four years...it’s been challenging but in the same breathe, been one helluva ride. A ride that I'll remember forever! There are days you cry, you sweat, hell you even bleed. Then there are days you smile, you laugh, you jump for joy, you celebrate with every bone in your body.

In this dynamic industry, you live for the moment and you capture it!

I am...

I am...the question I often ask myself when seeking inspiration..."Who am I", Who do I want to be", "What so I want to be"...

In a sane world, I am a daughter, a grand-daughter, a mother, a sister, a companion, a love, a best friend, an employee and a student. I would say I am, an independent South African female.

I am at the best of times a voice for my daughter, I am the one she wants to be. I am her role model, her inspiration!

I am what you would call a multi-tasker...yeah right? Ok, I am a procrastinator. No, I am normal...be that whatver you interpret that to be.

I am exactly where I want to be at this stage of my life, truly! I am me, and if I work hard at it then I'll get where I want to be!

I am growing, Im learning new things everyday. I think the bottom line to who I am, is that I AM HAPPY. I am happy to be me, I am free. Free to be expressing myself openly and whole-heartedly, I am me...
